The Ft. Wayne-Allen County Office of Homeland Security is responsible for working with all of City and County Agencies and Departments to coordinate the Mitigation, Planning, Response and Recovery from any natural or man-made disaster.

In addition this office provides:

• Public information, education and resources on emergency and disaster preparedness.
• Maintenance and operation of the Outdoor Warning Siren System.
• Coordination of the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan and Center of Operations.
• Storage of public records of Industrial use of Hazardous Chemicals on Federal EPA Tier II Reports.
• Interface with other counties for mutual aid during a disaster.
• Coordination with the State and Federal government for disaster declaration status and any possible reimbursement for expenses and loss from a disaster.
