| Coliseum Unveils Renovated Expo Center |

Memorial Coliseum unveiled its renovated Expo Center Thursday. On the left, Coliseum officials and local dignitaries cut the ribbon signifying the rededication of the Center. On the right is one of the newly refurbished exhibit halls. The Board of Trustees of the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum officially unveiled and opened the renovated Expo Center on Thursday. In celebration of the building’s 20th anniversary, a $5 million renovation project was completed over the summer, providing a complete overhaul to one of the most diversely utilized public buildings in the country. The Memorial Coliseum Expo Center regularly hosts a multitude of different types of events, including tradeshows, consumer sales, receptions, parties, banquets, concerts and even motorsports events. Included in the project were improvements for guests with disabilities, such as additional hand-rails and renovated restrooms. The main Expo Center received new lighting, sound and acoustical treatments, as well as, a fresh coat of paint. The Red, White, Blue, Archer and Appleseed meeting rooms all received new carpet, paint and window coverings. The main Expo Center corridor and lobbies, as well as, the main entrance rotunda received new carpet and fresh paint. The facility also received new HVAC controls to improve energy efficiency. Two concessions locations were renovated and other minor improvements and equipment upgrades were completed.
