Severe weather can happen anytime here in Allen County – especially during warmer weather. Severe weather can include hazardous conditions produced by thunderstorms, including damaging winds, tornadoes, large hail, flooding and flash flooding.  Being prepared for severe weather is each individual’s responsibility and takes an active effort to be ready.  Learn more about the threats from severe weather here in Allen County then make a plan, build a kit, and be Ready: Whenever. Flood

Flooding is the rising of river waters that can cause catastrophic damage and can strike almost without warning or gradually get worse over time. Make sure you are prepared in case of a flood. 

Thunderstorms

Thunderstorms can bring with them all modes of severe weather from lightning, to hail, to strong winds and tornadoes. Thunderstorms can occur any time of year so it is best to always be prepared. 

Tornadoes

Tornadoes can strike any time of year, but are most prevalent during the spring and summer time. Always stay up to date with the latest forecasts when there is the chance for severe weather.
