Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES)

 races

The Allen County RACES program is operated as part of the Allen County Office of Homeland Security.  RACES radio operators provide communications support for our office during training exercises, public safety events, and during times of emergencies and disasters.  It is composed of amateur radio operators from Allen County who are members of the Allen County Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES).  You must be an active member of Allen County ARES in order to apply to the Allen County RACES program.  As an ARES member you will receive training in emergency communications procedures that applies to both ARES and RACES.  Your performance in ARES will be used as part of the screening process for admission into RACES.  For more information on the RACES program contact Brad Witte, Allen County Office of Homeland Security, at 260-449-4673 or This email address is being protected from spambots.
