Weather affects everyone and at times those affects are severe and dangerous.  While the National Weather Service has a system of weather radar stations in place across the nation, they still rely on people on the ground to report actual conditions as they are occurring.  These reports from the field help the National Weather Service to refine their forecasts and to issue more timely and accurate warnings of severe weather.  You can help yourself and others by taking weather spotter training called Skywarn Spotter Training.  The National Weather Service office at North Webster holds Skywarn Spotter Training classes each year.  You can check their website for class availability as well as online training at: National Weather Service North Webster Office.
