The Central Services Division is responsible for processing marriage license applications and issuing marriage licenses.  This page provides information on how to apply for a marriage license in Allen County, the instructions for persons performing marriage ceremonies, and the procedure for requesting copies of a marriage license.  Click on the appropriate links below to read further details.

The male and female applicants, who wish to be married, must apply in person in the Central Services Division and bring with them the required documents.  For Indiana residents, at least one applicant must reside in Allen County and provide documentation of residency.  Out-of-state residents may apply for a license in Allen County only if the marriage ceremony is performed in Allen County.

The Central Services Division is located in Room 201 of the Allen County Courthouse, 715 South Calhoun Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.  You may apply Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, unless the Courthouse is closed for a legal holiday.  Allow a minimum of thirty (30) minutes to complete the application process.

REMINDER: Cellular telephones, pagers, cameras, and other electronic devices are banned from the Allen County Courthouse.  If you bring such a device into the Courthouse, the Sheriff may confiscate and destroy it.

A marriage license recording is provided by the Clerk for your convenience. You may listen to the marriage license requirements by calling (260) 449-7370 at any time.  If you have any further questions regarding marriage licenses, you may call the Central Services Division at (260) 449-7245.
