The address is the same, but the website that houses information about Allen County government has undergone an extreme makeover. The Allen County Commissioners' Office unveiled the newly designed website this morning. It is located on the internet at www.allencounty.us. Along with its new look, the website now offers several added features to make it more user-friendly. Those include an easily-accessible listing of county employment opportunities, drop-down menus featuring online services and information about other county government services, a rotating list of featured sites at the top of the home page, and icons that directly link visitors to the county's Twitter page and YouTube video channel. Allen County will also become one of the first local government entities in the state with its own "blog." This will allow readers to learn more about what's happening in Allen County government and also give them the opportunity to share their comments or ask questions. Over time, the website will be updated with additional features and information contributed by various departments in county government. The revamped website was a project undertaken by the county's Information Technology Department along with Atos Origin, the county's IT vendor. |
