The Allen County Commissioners office today announced that New Haven, Harlan and Grabill have been chosen as sites to host its "Commissioners' Night Out" meetings for the spring of 2009. This is the fifth year that the Board of Commissioners has offered the town hall-style meetings, but the first year that meetings will be held during both the spring and fall seasons. Citizens will have an opportunity during the public forums to meet the Commissioners face-to-face, give their input on issues important to them and learn about the workings of county government. The meeting in New Haven will take place Thursday, April 30, at the police training room in City Hall, 815 Lincoln Highway East, starting at 7 p.m. The Harlan meeting is set for Thursday, May 14, at the Community Park Shelter on 2nd Street beginning at 6:30 p.m. One week later on Thursday, May 21, "Commissioners' Night Out" will take place in Grabill at the South Park Pavi-lion starting at 6:30 p.m. "These meetings are all about bringing county government directly to our citizens," said Bill Brown, President of the Board of Commissioners. "The Commissioners look forward to visiting these areas and hope residents will take the opportunity to come and talk with their elected leaders." The schedule for "Commissioners' Night Out" in the fall will be announced at a later date. |
