Allen Co. Treasurer Sue Orth shows off her new offices in the City-County Building

The Allen County Treasurer's Office began operating out of its new home this week.  And Treasurer Sue Orth couldn't be happier with her new digs.

The Treasurer's Office is now in Room 104 on the first floor of the City-County Building, just down the hall from its former location.  It is occupying the space formerly used by the County Assessor's Department.  The phone number for the Treasurer's Office remains the same as before - 449-7693.

Orth said some of the new features in her office include individual teller stations which should make it easier for the public to get assistance quicker and a drop-off slot near the front door that people can use for making tax payments without having to wait in line.

"We are very excited about our new office," said Orth.  "We are using less space more efficiently.  The County Maintenance crew did a fantastic job and we just love it."

Orth's old office - Room 100 - is now in the process of being renovated for use by County Recorder John McGauley and his staff.  That project is expected to be finished in early June.

Ultimately, the current Recorder's Office on the CCB's second floor will be renovated and occupied by County Assessor Stacey O'Day.  The remodeling project includes connecting several departments within the Assessor's Office which are already located on the second floor.  Those plans are still in the process of being finalized.
