The 2009 annual report for Allen County was released today by the office of the Board of Commissioners.

“Allen County’s financial stability remained strong through the recession of 2009,” said Linda Bloom, President of the Board of Commissioners.  “In reading this report, we are confident that the citizens of Allen County will see that the County’s capable and committed staff are being responsible stewards of the public trust and utilizing public resources efficiently and wisely.”

Highlights of the comprehensive, 16-page color report include:

• A breakdown of general fund revenues and the distribution of the county general fund budget in 2009
• A review of new companies locating in Allen County, along with existing firms which either expanded or relocated their operations within our community
• A recap of some of the major projects undertaken by the County Highway Department
• The exterior renovation of the historic Allen County Courthouse
• The relocation of three county offices within the City-County Building
• The ongoing discussion of co-location issues involving Allen County and the City of Fort Wayne
• The unveiling of a strategic plan for Allen County government
• A look at some of the goals and objectives for the county in the year 2010

The 2009 Annual Report was prepared by the Commissioners’ Public Information Office and printed through the facilities of the county’s print shop.  It will be distributed to public facilities throughout the community, including government offices and branches of the Allen County Public Library.
