The Allen County Highway Department this morning updated the situation on Hollopeter Road near Leo.

Hollopeter has lane restrictions in effect between Hull and Painter Roads from now through Sunday.  That same section of Hollopeter is scheduled to be closed both Monday and Tuesday for repair work.

Heavy rains earlier in the week washed out three or four holes in an area of Hollopeter where a three-foot drainage pipe was installed a year ago.  The Highway Department suspects a band which joins two pieces of the pipe failed, causing water to build up under the road’s surface.  The pipe will be repaired and the chip-and-seal road will be patched with asphalt and then sealed.
