Measuring the ADA - Conducting Effective Accessibility Surveys: Free Audio Conference Apr. 20 PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 12 April 2010 08:18

Allen County Human Resources will host an audio conference on conducting accessibility surveys under  the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  The free audio conference will be held on Tuesday, April 20, from 2:00-3:30 p.m. at City-County Building, Room 350, 1 East Main Street.

When conducting effective accessibility surveys, the most commonly asked questions tend to be: What to measure, how to measure, who is qualified to do a survey, and what tools are available to conduct the survey. In this session,  expert panelists will focus on the needs and challenges in conducting surveying in the external environment, such as parking lots, trails, sidewalks, curb cuts, pedestrian rights of way, and other outside locations. Expert panelists will share their "lessons learned" and tricks of the trade.
