The Allen County Board of Commissioners today released the following statement regarding funding for the City-County Building Renovation Project: “Earlier this month, the Board of Commissioners indicated that work to complete renovation of the City-County Building would have to be temporarily halted on December 1 without the City of Fort Wayne’s $1 million contribution which was pledged last year. During this time, both sides have been meeting to reach an agreement that would keep the project on track and avert any delays in its completion. Today, we received a verbal commitment from the City that $500,000 of the pledged money would be provided by December 1. This infusion of funding will permit work to continue at least through the end of this year. The Board of Commissioners is committed to seeing this project to its conclusion for the benefit of all Allen County citizens and will continue in that spirit negotiating with the City to reach agreement on all remaining issues.” |
