During the holiday season Americans produce 25% more trash compared to any other time of the year. The Allen County Solid Waste Management District encourages residents to utilize our community’s recycling programs in efforts to reduce their impact on the environment. Here are some helpful tips for recycling during the holidays. Electronics can be recycled at Omni Source located at 1430 Meyer Road. Items such as computers, televisions, CD players, stereo receivers/tape decks, video game consoles, VCR’s and DVD players can be recycled. For more information call 449-7878.
These items can be dropped-off at the recycling locations or placed in curbside recycling carts. Visit www.acwastewatcher.org for more information. The following holiday items can NOT be recycled:
You can also recycle your live Christmas tree at various locations throughout the county. Call 449-7878, or visit www.acwastewatcher.org for more information. |
