2016 annual report cover

The 2016 Annual Report for Allen County was released today by the Board of Commissioners' Public Information Office.

The 2016 Annual Report is currently available online by clicking here.  It will be distributed later this week to public facilities throughout the community, including government offices and branches of the Allen County Public Library.

"This report documents the county's dedication to service and accountability during the past year, and demonstrates the value that citizens are receiving for their taxpayer dollars," the board said in its message to county residents. "We hope you will enjoy looking back on 2016, take pride in Allen County's many accomplishments, and let us know how we may best serve you in 2017."

The 2016 Annual Report is dedicated to Councilman Roy Buskirk, who passed away on November 4, in recognition of his devotion and commitment to the citizens of Allen County during his 14 years on council.

Highlights of the 20-page comprehensive report include:

  • A breakdown of general fund revenues and the distribution of the county general fund budget in 2016;
  • A review of efforts to enhance economic development in Allen County, including the continuing success of the County's land banking program;
  • A recap of some of the major projects undertaken by the County Highway Department;
  • Reports from various County elected officials and departments under the direction of the Board of Commissioners;
  • The objectives and goals of the Board of Commissioners in 2017; and
  • A list of current County elected officials and department heads.
