New Case Type - EM, Estate Miscellaneous PDF Print E-mail
Effective January 2009

Pursuant to Administrative Rule 8, all cases involving matters related to estates but do not involve the administration of estates shall be assigned the new case type EM, Estate Miscellaneous.

Examples of estate matters that fall under the new EM category are filing an inheritance tax return, offering a will for probate, opening a bank safety deposit box, or other estate matters that do not involve the administration of estates.  These estate matters were previously assigned the case type EU, Estate Unsupervised.

In the future, the case types ES, Estate Supervised, and EU, Estate Unsupervised, shall only include the matters that involve the administration of estates.
